INTRODUCTION
The High Tech Women Organization of Nigeria (NGO) is born out of the
call to action challenge from the 3rd ICT conference held in GHANA in
March 2004 and to get women to see the need for adopting ICT as a tool
for self development and economic empowerment thereby making our nation
socially developed economically. Therefore, there is need for women
to rise up to the challenge of getting ICT fire into their bones so
that the level of mediocrity and negligence with the womenfolk will
soon be a forgotten issue.
VISION
To see every Nigerian Woman become ICT literate and
be able to use new ICT equipment for their wealth creation.
GOALS
To build up women from various fields of life by empowering
them through research, capacity building; in Trainings, workshops and
developmental technology applications to our everyday living.
OBJECTIVES
The NGO is to sensitize women about ICT not just as
a means of communication but also as a tool to enhance their self-development
as professionals, entrepreneurs and at whatever endeavors of life that
women get themselves involve with to sustain their prosperity.
EXPECTED
OUTPUT
Enhancing women participation in Science and Technology
and or ICT for economic development of their various business or professional
endeavors, the local community and the nation at large.
Youths especially girls are encouraged to choose and adopt sciences
and technology as a course for pursuit through the exposures they have
at the training centres and hence eradicating the gender imbalance in
the ICT world of technological advancement.
The economy of the nation will not be the same as poverty would have
been drastically reduced.
